Irene has over 30 Years in the insurance industry, 5 years banking. Irene specialises in Commercial, Liability, Vineyard/Winery Insurances and is a long standing Central Otago resident.

Simon has been brought up in the insurance industry and started with us in 2008. He is a plumber by trade, so understands the need to keep water in the pipes! Simon has a young family and a strong sporting background involving being a fitness coach and competitive rower.

Dewald has over 20 years’ experience in business and sales management. He and his family made Alexandra their home in January 2017 and joined the team in June 2019. His passion for business, serving the community and being part of positive change is core to his values and commitment towards the region and its people. He enjoys spending time with his family, golf, tennis, bowls and making music.
BROKER, IT AND COMPLIANCE
Steve has nearly 30 years of Finance & Insurance experience and has recently moved to us from a Corporate/Commercial Insurance Broking role in Christchurch. He is looking forward to introducing his wife to the South and being closer to his family in Southland.
Outside of the office Steve is active as part of the Scouts NZ national scout team as well as competing nationally in cowboy action shooting events and enjoying the outdoors.

Grey joined AMP over 25 years ago and is currently based in Winton. Here, he helps commercial and farming clients in Western, Northern Southland and Otago achieve their financial goals through planning, and providing protection to their businesses and families.
Simon joined us in 2012 with 6 years of broking experience and is based in the Central Lakes area. Before this, he worked in the insurance industry in Southland. Simon is great at establishing good relationships and helping clients identify their insurance needs. He enjoys interacting with people and is a keen sportsman enjoying football, tennis and golf.
BROKER - Health Specialist
Jacqui joined the broker team in January 2016 with a background that has always been customer focused after owning a business for more than 10 years. With a passion for listening to clients' needs, Jacqui is working as a Health Insurance Specialist based in the Central Lakes area customising plans for both Group and Individual needs throughout the South Island. Jacqui likes to have a hit of golf, enjoys entertaining and soaking up the Central weather after moving up from Invercargill in 2012.
Following completion of his University Degree, Matt started in the Insurance Industry in 2007 as a claims consultant for Vero Insurance, going on to manage a claims team. Matt switched to a Broking position in 2011 with a comprehensive portfolio of commercial, corporate and industrial insurances. Outside of Insurance, Matt likes all sport, actively playing and coaching rugby union and cricket, travelling and continually trying to find the perfect cup of coffee.
Sharon has been with C&R Insurance since 2001 and prior to that, she spent 11 years in the banking Industry.
She really enjoys living and working in Central Otago and making the most of the lifestyle that the area offers.
Originally from Dunedin, Tracey worked 13 years for The National Bank of NZ before starting a family. Tracey moved the family to the Ida Valley to take up farming in 2002, and worked as Office Manager of Poolburn School along with driving the school bus for 8 years. Tracey joined Commercial & Rural in 2017 and you'll find her at reception as a part of our domestic processing team. Outside of work, she enjoys hunting, the outdoors and socialising with family and friends at any opportunity.
Kelly has worked for C&R since 2012, prior to that at ANZ Bank and Amway Australasia. You'll find Kelly looking after the processing of our business and farm clients in the Otago and Southland region, including claim management with the insurer.
On a personal level, she has lived in Central Otago for 10 years following 10 years in Auckland. She enjoys walking, reading and watching her kids succeed in their chosen sports.
Stacey joined us early in 2014 following 9 years in the Insurance Industry and a shift to Clyde from Southland. Stacey works as part of our rural and commercial insurance team, and also looks after travel insurance. She enjoys spending time her family, relaxing, camping and the outdoors.
Claire has been with us since 2010, following 15 years in the banking industry. She moved to Alexandra from the UK in 2003 with her husband and three children. You'll find Claire as a part of our Commercial processing team, with great knowledge of Contract Works insurance. She enjoys overseas travel and spending time in the outdoors walking and jogging.
Tracy has been with us since 2010, following 11 years in administrative roles. Originally from Southland, she moved to Central Otago in 2004. At C&R Tracy helps out with our commercial and vineyard clients, and has acquired great knowledge of vineyard insurance. She also enjoys managing claims for our clients, to ensure best possible outcome. Tracy enjoys the Central Otago lifestyle, along with spending quality time with her family and friends.
Deb is as local as you get. She grew up in Alexandra, raised her family and has been part of the community her whole life. Debbie has spent 26 years in the insurance industry serving clients across the Central Otago region. she loves meeting people face to face and over her insurance career helped clients with their domestic insurances. she enjoy spending time in the gym and with her family and friends and is part of the local Pipe band.
Ami joined us mid 2014 following more than 10 years in the insurance industry within claims departments. Following a move from Christchurch, Ami has been a welcomed addition our team and we value her knowledge about the claims process. You'll find Ami at reception where she works as a part of our domestic processing team.
Shona joined our team in February 2021. A local to Central Otago she has a background in banking, administration and in 2009 establishing and operating Henry’s BWS in Alexandra with her husband Wayne. After 11 years Shona and Wayne decided to sell the business. Shona has been involved in sport in the community for many years and enjoys walking and exploring the local tracks and trails.
Hollie joined the C&R team in 2017, with 8 years broker support experience behind her in London and the Waikato. With a young family to keep her busy, Hollie also enjoys playing squash, and enjoying the Central Otago outdoors. Hollie works part-time in our domestic and commercial processing team.
Caitlin joined our team in March 2021. She has worked in hospitality after school while studying and worked as an office administrator for a local motoring firm. She is the oldest of twins and has an older brother. Her and her family has been locals all their life and she finished her schooling at Dunstan High School. She finished her diploma in business management in 2017. She enjoy cooking, gym and graphic designing.
